The ScoutIQ 2 app introduces a newly designed interface and upgraded tools for more efficient product scouting. This guide offers a straightforward, educational walkthrough of the app’s current features. If you’re new to ScoutIQ or transitioning from the original version, this will help you navigate the updated experience.
In-App Education: Initial Walkthrough
When you first launch ScoutIQ 2, the app walks you through basic setup steps:
Account Connection: With ScoutIQ 2 you can now connect your Amazon Seller account directly through the app.
Permissions: Grant necessary permissions (camera, notifications, etc.) to enable full functionality.
Basic Feature Overview: Short in-app prompts explain key features such as scanning methods and trigger settings.
These walkthroughs are designed to help new users get started with minimal confusion.

Scanning
Once setup is complete, the app defaults to the Scan tab, which is the primary interface for evaluating products. ScoutIQ 2 supports scanning with your Phone's Camera or a Bluetooth Scanner.
Available Scanning Methods
Standard Mode
Camera Barcode/ISBN Scan: Use your phone’s camera to scan product barcodes or ISBNs.
Camera Title Scan: Use your phone's camera to scan a book's Title Page.
Manual Entry: Manually type a Barcode, ISBN, or Book Title with the in-app keyboard.
Speed Mode
Speed Mode offers a summary of the most critical metrics for an item at the top of the screen and allows fast on-shelf scanning without tapping the scan button between items.
Speed Mode Rewind: While in Speed Mode, you can tap "Show More" to view a log of all items scanned during that Speed Mode session and tap to view the scout screen for that item, if desired.
Once you scan an item, the Scout Screen brings together the most important information you need to evaluate it quickly in the scout screen.
The ScoutIQ 2 Scout Screen
The ScoutIQ 2 Screen is the main workspace in ScoutIQ 2 and the place where you evaluate each item after scanning. It brings together the most important information you need to make a sourcing decision, including profitability, demand, competition, pricing, and restrictions.
At the top of the Scout Screen, ScoutIQ 2 gives you a clear purchase recommendation—such as Accept, Accept (Restricted by Amazon), or Reject—so you can quickly understand whether an item meets your buying criteria.

You’ll also see key item details like the title, weight, ASIN, and category, followed by a profitability overview that includes your Target Price, Buy Cost, and estimated Profit. ScoutIQ 2 makes this easier to interpret with color-coded profit indicators and tappable values that let you adjust your cost or review your profit calculation.
The Scout Screen also highlights important sales metrics like eScore, Sales Rank, and Total Offers, along with tappable tool tips that bring up visual indicators that help you understand demand and competition at a glance. Instead of relying only on raw numbers, ScoutIQ 2 uses visual tools like eScore progress bars, rank percentile, and offer-based competition indicators to make data easier to read while sourcing.
Below that, you can review important market pricing data such as the Used Buy Box, New Buy Box, and Amazon price, along with a breakdown of Used and New offers and any personalized restriction checks if your Amazon account is connected.
For deeper analysis, the Scout Screen includes offer columns for used and new inventory, FBA and non-FBA pricing, and real-time Wholesale Integrations when enabled. These tools help you compare Amazon resale opportunities with wholesale buyback or consignment offers so you can choose the most profitable path.
At the bottom of the Scout Screen, quick action tools let you take the next step right away. You can run a Live Lookup for real-time Amazon data, open ChartIQ to review price history, add the item to your Buy List, access additional Product Research tools, or request Amazon approval directly in app when available.
Together, these features make the Scout Screen the core decision-making view in ScoutIQ 2, helping you evaluate books faster and source with more confidence.

Home Tab: Sourcing Metrics and History
The Home tab offers insights into your recent scouting activity:
Custom Date Filtering: Select any date range to view metrics.
Accepted Scans: See how many items were marked as profitable.
Performance Indicators: Quickly analyze your sourcing results.
Settings Tab
The Settings tab allows configuration of key features:
App Controls
ScoutIQ 2 includes a built-in database download feature directly in the Settings tab for Live Pro and Seller 365 subscribers. The app will notify you when a database update is available and display the date of the most recent update.
Database downloads in ScoutIQ 2 run in the background, so there’s no need to leave the app open or set your phone aside while the update finishes.
Database Only: Fast scans using local data.
Data + Live: Local data first, then fills gaps with live lookups.
Live Only: Always pulls the latest Amazon data. Requires a strong internet connection.
ScoutIQ 2 lets you control how the app responds when pricing data isn’t available or no offers exist for an item. You have the option to Always Accept or Always Reject these items, or set a Default Price you would like to use for profit analysis in these cases.
Wholesale IntegrationsWe provide additional ways to monetize scanned books by showing real-time buyback or consignment offers directly on the scan screen. When enabled in Settings, integrations such as World of Books and BooksRun display guaranteed cash buyback prices or estimated consignment payouts alongside standard Amazon profit data. This allows sellers to quickly compare options and decide whether to list the book on Amazon or accept a wholesale buyback, offering a fast and convenient alternative for books that may not be ideal for Amazon resale.
The ScoutIQ 2 app highlights the higher offer with a rainbow border. For further details about Wholesale Integrations read this article.
Wholesale Audio Cue
Plays a special Accept tone when a book fails your triggers but has a buyback offer higher than your cost.
Hidden Mode Enhancements
Hidden Mode hides pricing and profit data from team members while allowing them to scout. In ScoutIQ 2 team members in Hidden Mode have the ability to add Buy Cost, but adding items to an Accept List or Buy List is not yet available for Hidden Mode users.
