ScoutIQ 2 introduces a new setting that gives you more control over how the app handles items with no current offers on Amazon.
You can find this option in Settings → No Offer Customization.
This setting determines what happens when you scan a book and no other sellers are currently listing that item on Amazon.
Why This Matters
In the original ScoutIQ app, items with no offers were automatically rejected.
The reasoning was simple:
If there are no other sellers on the listing, the app doesn’t have enough information to estimate the market value or sales activity. To avoid recommending risky buys, ScoutIQ would reject the item by default.
However, many sellers told us something important:
"If there are no other sellers… I want that listing."
Being the only seller on a listing can mean less competition and more pricing control, so ScoutIQ 2 now lets you decide how these items should be handled.
Your Three Options
ScoutIQ 2 gives you three ways to handle items with no offers.
1. Always Reject
This setting behaves exactly like the original ScoutIQ app.
If you scan an item with no other offers on Amazon, the app will automatically reject the item.
Best for:
Conservative sourcing strategies
Sellers who prefer strong market data before buying
2. Always Accept
With this option enabled, ScoutIQ will automatically accept items that have no other offers.
This allows you to intentionally target listings where you may become the only seller.
Best for:
Experienced sellers comfortable pricing items themselves
Sellers looking for low-competition listings
3. Use a fallback Default Price
This option allows ScoutIQ to evaluate the item using a price you choose, even though there are no offers.
You simply set a default price of your choosing, and the app will treat the item as if it were selling at that price when applying your accept/reject rules.
Example:
If your fallback price is set to $5, ScoutIQ will calculate profit and triggers as if the lowest offer were $5, even though no offers currently exist.
This gives you a way to apply your normal scanning criteria to listings without offers.
Best for:
Sellers who want more control than a simple accept/reject rule
Users who want to evaluate potential profit using a conservative price estimate
Choosing the Right Setting
There isn’t a single “correct” option—it depends on how you source.
Strategy | Recommended Option |
Conservative / data-driven sourcing | Always Reject |
Target low-competition listings | Always Accept |
Balanced approach with price assumptions | Fallback Default Price |
