Speed Mode in ScoutIQ & ScoutIQ 2

Speed Mode is designed to help users who scan with their phones move quickly and efficiently. It displays a summary of key information across the top of the screen, making it easier to pass on unprofitable items without slowing down.

When Speed Mode is enabled, you only need to point your phone’s camera at a book’s barcode or ISBN. Results will appear instantly at the top of the screen without needing to tap the red Camera button again in ScoutIQ 2 or the orange Scan button again in ScoutIQ.

This makes it especially useful for scanning large volumes of books in fast-paced sourcing environments, such as competitive library sales. And yes, it’s a great option if you’re not using a Bluetooth scanner yet.

In ScoutIQ 2:

To turn on Speed Mode, tap Scan at the bottom of the Scout Screen, then tap Speed Mode.

To enable Speed Mode, tap the orange Scan button, then tap the Speed Mode Enabled toggle at the bottom of the Scanning tab.

Speed Mode is designed to streamline scanning by instantly displaying a green Accept bar or red Reject barbased on your triggers, along with the most important scouting data at the top of the screen.

When scanning in Live Only Scanning Mode, you’ll also see the book’s thumbnail image.

Because ScoutIQ 2 integrates with World of Books and BooksRun, the higher of the two wholesale offers will be prioritized on this screen. ScoutIQ only includes offers from World of Books.

You’ll also notice the shopping cart icon, which opens the Add to Buy List workflow:

To take a closer look at data about that item on the ScoutIQ 2 Scout Screen or the ScoutIQ Scout Screen, just tap information bar at the top of the Screen in ScoutIQ 2:

In ScoutIQ 2, you can tap Show More while using Speed Mode to view a log of all items scanned during that Speed Mode session. From there, you can tap any item to open its Scout Screen for a closer review.
