Quick overview:
The Buy List in ScoutIQ2 lets you record the items you actually purchase while sourcing—including cost, condition, supplier, and other listing details—so you can export the list and upload it into your listing workflow later.
How to Use the Buy List
Step 1: Create and Name Your Buy List
Before you start sourcing, create a new Buy List in ScoutIQ2. You can have several Active Buy Lists. Some users create a Buy List for each Source/Supplier, others for each type of item, and others like to have every item sourced in a day on the same list.
Important Note: If you sell both Merchant Fulfilled (MF) and Fulfilled By Amazon (FBA) it is important that each Buy List created only pertains to one fufillment method. This will matter when it's time to import your Buy List into InventoryLab.
First, tap the Buy List button in the bottom navigation.
Tap Add New.
A name will automatically populate using the date and time (for example: Buy List 11-Mar-2026-01:51:47).
You can keep the default name or change it to something more meaningful, such as a store name or sourcing trip.
Tap Submit and the green 'Buy list created successfully' will show along the bottom of the screen.
Your Buy List is now available to update.
Step 2: Add to Your Buy List
Scan items using your phone camera or Bluetooth scanner just as you normally would. If you decide to purchase the item, tap the shopping cart button next to the red camera button:
Doing so will open up the Add to Buy List Workflow:
The Add to Buy List Workflow will automatically default to the most recently created list, but you can select any other Active Buy List by tapping the arrow next to the Buy list name:

and selecting from the dropdown menu:

Changing lists will be important if you are sourcing both MF and FBA in the same scouting trip.
Step 3: Enter Purchase Details
You can record the details of the purchase on the Add to Buy List Workflow.
Capturing this information during sourcing helps reduce the work required later when preparing items for listing.
This workflow screen records the following information:
Cost per Unit
The price you paid for the item, if you have added a buy cost on the scout screen, this will automatically populate in the workflow.
Amazon Tax Code
Select the Amazon tax code you want applied when listing.
Quantity
Enter the number of copies purchased.
This allows you to record multiple copies of the same item without scanning each one individually.
List Price
ScoutIQ2 automatically records the target price shown on the scout screen.
Purchase Date
The app automatically records the date the item was added to the Buy List.
Source / Supplier
Record the store or supplier where you purchased the item.
ScoutIQ2 remembers previously entered sources so you can select them quickly again.
Condition
Choose the condition of the item based on Amazon's Condition Guidelines.
The condition format is compatible with InventoryLab imports.
Tax Rate
Record any additional local tax applied during the purchase.
Supplier Discount
Add any discount applied by the supplier or store.
Expiration Date
Expiration dates can be recorded for items that require them.
This is generally not relevant for BMVD items (Books, Media, Video Games, DVDs) but is useful when sourcing other product categories.
Notes
Use the notes section to record condition details or other observations.
Step 4: Viewing & Updating Your Buy List
To view or modify your Buy List before exporting, just tap the shopping cart icon on the bottom navigation menu:
Then tap the Buy List you wish to view:
From the screen that opens you will see all of the items added to that list.
From this page you can use the trash can icon to remove any unwanted items. Tapping an item on this list will reopen the Add to Buy List Workflow and allow you to make any edits before downloading.
Exporting Your Buy List
After making any necessary updates, you can simply tap the download CSV button in the upper right corner:
Choose to save the export file to the cloud, share via NFC, email etc.
The exported file is a standard CSV, which can be used with many listing workflows.
For sellers using InventoryLab, the file is already formatted to work smoothly with InventoryLab’s Buy List import process, making it especially convenient for Seller 365 subscribers.
Importing Your Buy List into InventoryLab
If you're using InventoryLab, you can import your ScoutIQ2 Buy List directly when creating a new batch.
