ScoutIQ Profit Calculator

A detailed explanation and visual walkthrough of the profit calculator on the ScoutIQ Scout Screen.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The ScoutIQ Profit Calculator allows you to estimate your profit after fees while sourcing.

How to Open the Profit Calculator

The calculator is accessed the same way in both ScoutIQ and ScoutIQ 2:

👉 Tap the profit number on the Scout Screen

Where that number appears—and how it looks—depends on which version of the app you’re using:

ScoutIQ 2

  • The Net Profit after fees is shown on the Scout Screen in the upper right corner

  • The number is color-coded:

    • Green = profitable

    • Red = not profitable

  • Tap this number to open the Profit Calculator

ScoutIQ (Original App)

  • The profit number is not color-coded

  • Location depends on your scanning mode:

  • Tap the profit number to open the Profit Calculator

Using the Profit Calculator

When you open the Profit Calculator, it will default to the Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) tab.

If you are a Merchant Fulfilled (MF) seller, tap the Merchant Fulfilled tab within the calculator.

Here is how the Profit Calculator FBA and MF tabs appear in ScoutIQ 2:

Here is how the Profit Calculator FBA and MF tabs appear in ScoutIQ:

Important Note: The calculator will stay on whichever tab (FBA or MF) was last selected when you close it, until you manually change it again.

On both the FBA and MF tabs, the first item shown is the List Price (including shipping).

This price matches the Target Price selected by your triggers based on the item’s eScore.

  • If the Target Price is based on Amazon’s price, it may be a percentage lower depending on your trigger settings

Below the List Price, you’ll find the Buy Cost, which can be:

  • Entered or edited directly in the Profit Calculator

  • Adjusted from the Scout screens

Important Note

  • Buy Cost is saved until updated
Like the fulfillment type, the Buy Cost will remain unchanged until you manually update it.

FBA Tab (Fulfilled by Amazon)

The FBA tab includes Amazon-related fees, such as:

  • Referral Fee

  • Closing Fee

  • FBA Fee

You can also:

  • Add or edit a Fuel & Inflation Surcharge Percentage

  • Adjust Cost Per Pound for inbound shipping

Any changes made will automatically update your Profit Estimate at the bottom of the screen.

Note: Placement Fees are not currently included in profit calculations.

MF Tab (Merchant Fulfilled)

The MF tab includes the Amazon fees you are responsible for, such as:

  • Referral Fee

  • Closing Fee

Since you handle fulfillment, your primary costs come from shipping.

You can adjust:

  • Fixed Cost

  • Price per Pound (with item weight automatically included)

Any changes made will automatically update your Profit Estimate at the bottom of the screen.
