Mismatched results in Tactical Arbitrage typically occur when product data does not align between the source website, Amazon, your supplier file, or your specific TA settings.
A mismatch does not always indicate a poor result. In some instances, it suggests the product requires a more detailed review. These discrepancies can occasionally reveal hidden opportunities, particularly when the issue involves pack quantities, variations, or price fluctuations that other sellers might overlook.
Common mismatches you may see
You may notice the following discrepancies:
The Buy Box or Amazon price differs from your expectations.
Profit or ROI calculations appear unusually high or low.
The pack quantity does not match the listing.
The scan matched an incorrect product variation.
Sales estimates do not align with the TA history graph.
Product titles contain terms such as pack, bundle, set, or count.
Products appear similar, but the ASIN, size, or model number is different.
Follow the steps below to determine whether to refresh data, apply filters, or mark the item as a mismatch.
1. Refresh the result first
If the discrepancy involves price, availability, or competition, refresh the result before discarding it.
In View Results, use the update options to refresh selected rows or select Update All.
In TA Lite, the way to do it is by clicking the Recheck button.
To verify a single product, run a targeted Reverse Search using the exact ASIN rather than restarting a full scan.
After refreshing, verify the following:
Exact ASIN and Marketplace
Amazon and Source pricing
Fulfillment method and Availability
Current Competition levels
If the data appears correct after the refresh, the initial mismatch was likely due to cached or outdated scan information.
2. Check your settings
If profit or ROI data seems incorrect, review your account configuration in Global Search Settings, specifically:
Seller type, Prep costs, and Shipping costs.
Profit and ROI calculation thresholds.
Source price adjustments and cashback assumptions.
FBA or MFN specific calculation modes.
UK or EU sellers should also confirm their VAT Status under Settings > Keys. Small configuration differences can significantly impact whether a product appears profitable.
3. Check supplier file mapping
Incorrect wholesale costs often stem from column mapping errors. Before scanning, confirm the correct columns are selected for:
Cost or wholesale price and Product title.
UPC, ASIN, ISBN, or EAN data.
Pack quantity columns, where applicable.
Ensure identifier columns are formatted as text to prevent the removal of leading zeros. It is recommended to upload a small test file first to verify that data maps correctly before processing a large file.
4. Check pack quantity and variation
Mismatches often occur because suppliers and Amazon describe items differently. A supplier might sell by the case while Amazon lists single units, or TA might match a parent listing when the supplier item is a specific child variation.
Before making a decision, verify the exact ASIN, parent vs. child relationship, unit count, size, color, and model number. If the quantity or variation is incorrect, mark it as a mismatch.
To prevent these products from appearing in your results, you can filter them out before scanning by using the Remove Products if Source Title Contains filter.
5. Remove or mark clear mismatches
If a result is clearly incorrect, you can manage it using several tools:
Select Mark as Mismatch from the result row toolbar.
Use Remove if Contains filters to exclude terms like pack, pk, bundle, set, or case.
Manually remove results where the unit count or variation does not match.
📝 Use these filters carefully, as some multipacks may still represent profitable opportunities if the supplier cost and Amazon quantity are compatible.
6. Use the TA history graph for context
Sales estimates are directional and not guaranteed reports. If an estimate seems off, consult the TA history graph for context on rank stability, price movement, and competition changes.
A single estimate can be misleading if a product has seasonal demand or unstable rank movement. Use the history graph in conjunction with the estimate to make an informed decision.
Before buying
Always confirm results with live data before purchasing inventory. Check the current Amazon and source prices, fees, restrictions, stock status, and competition.
Buying decisions should always be based on the most recent, verified information.
Contact support if an ASIN repeatedly shows incorrect data, wholesale files show wrong costs even with correct mapping, or refreshing does not update price or availability.
