SmartRepricer Workflows

Discover how to create SmartRepricer workflows that automatically change repricing strategies or apply rules to newly added items.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

SmartRepricer's workflows let you automate your repricing strategy.

You can create triggers that switch pricing strategies in mornings and evenings, on weekends and holidays, and at peak sales times. For example, you can set a unique strategy for Black Friday, a different one for New Year's Eve, and another for regular days.

Workflows are also perfect for eliminating repeat work. Say you always apply one strategy to all your FBA items and another to your MFN items. No problem—two very basic workflows can do that automatically.

To start using this exclusive feature of SmartRepricer, select Workflows in the menu on the left.

The My Workflows tab allows you to create, view, and manage your workflows. The Archive tab is only for reviewing deleted workflows.

Click My Workflows now and follow the steps below to create your own workflows.

Step 1: Select Trigger

You'll create your own workflows by setting rules. These will define when and under what conditions you want the workflow to operate.

Firstly, you must select a trigger: whether you want the workflow to occur when A Time of Day Occurs or when a New Listing is added to SmartRepricer.

A Time of Day Occurs

If you prefer the pricing action of the workflow to take place at a specific time on a specific day (or days), proceed by selecting A Time of Day Occurs.

New Listing

If you want the workflow to run when you add a new product to SmartRepricer, proceed with the New Listing option. The workflow will run only on the new listings you import, not on your existing listings.

Unlike A Time of Day Occurs, there is no Configure Trigger step here, but the steps after that are the same. If you are choosing New Listing, you can skip to Step 2 now.

Step 1a: Configure Trigger

  • Use the Repeats toggle to determine whether this is a one-time workflow or an ongoing one. If you want to use it only once, such as for a holiday or Prime Day, click the toggle to turn it off. (A grey toggle with the knob on the left is off; a blue toggle with the knob on the right is on.)

  • Select the day(s) and time you want to run your workflow. You can choose multiple days if you want; selected days will be shown in blue. However, you can only select one time per workflow.

Note: The time selected here is on a 24-hour clock. Additionally, it uses the UTC time zone, which may be quite different from your time zone. If you select a time near midnight, the time difference may even cause the workflow to go through on a different day than intended. We recommend using a tool like World Time Buddy to match your time to the time in UTC.

  • Once you're happy with your schedule, click Continue.

Step 2: Actions

This step is where you will configure the actions your workflow will perform. You'll need to add two things:

  • Your workflow's filter(s) (which products it applies to).

  • Your workflow's action(s) (what it does to those products).

Filters

Click + Add Filter. This will open the filter block, where you can choose which products your workflow will apply to. You can filter by marketplace, strategy, SKU, Tag, Title, Fulfillment Type, Inventory Age, and/or Low Inventory Fee.

Click any toggle to activate that filter, then use the options that appear to configure it.

As shown above, you can set multiple filters at once. Be sure to click Save at the bottom once finished.

Add Actions

After saving your filters, click + Add Actions.

Now you can choose the action(s) the workflow will perform. When your trigger fires, SmartRepricer will apply the action(s) you select here to the products you chose in Filters.

Actions you can choose from:

  • Pause Repricing

In this action, you can choose to pause the repricer for a certain duration and select the action that will occur when paused.

  • Set Strategy

This action automatically assigns or changes the strategy applied to listings.

  • Repricing Toggle

In this action, you can deactivate or reactivate the repricer.

Select one of the three actions, then click Continue.

On the next screen, choose your action settings, then click Save.

You can set more than one action if you want.

Once your filters and actions have been set, click Continue.

Step 3: Review

Review the workflow you've created. (If you need to, you can go back by clicking Actions in the lower left. You'll see similar back buttons on the other pages.)

Enter a name for your workflow.

If you want the workflow to fire the next time its trigger occurs, click the Enable toggle. (Remember, the trigger is either when the time and day you selected arrives or when you add a new listing.)

Finally, click Save to complete the process.

Viewing and Managing Your Workflows

You can view and manage your workflows anytime by going back to Workflows > My Workflows.

Here, you'll see all the workflows you've created. You can activate or deactivate any of them by clicking the toggles in the STATUS column. You can also edit or delete a workflow by clicking the pencil or trash icons on the far right.
