You can print from your DYMO printer using any browser! Some of the more common DYMO printers our users print from include the DYMO LabelWriter 450, the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Turbo, and the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo.
Note: DYMO printers are not compatible with Chromebooks.
DYMO Printer Setup Steps
Turn On and connect your DYMO to your computer.
Install v8.7.5 for Mac or v8.7.4 for Windows of the DYMO Label Software to your computer.
This is not just the drivers for your printer; it’s a bundle that comprises the most current drivers as well as the necessary software framework to allow InventoryLab to communicate with the device.
After downloading and installing the DLS software for your OS, log out of InventoryLab and restart your browser.
We also recommend checking to make sure the DYMO software is running after install.
To do this on Mac OS, check that the DYMO web-service icon is visible in the menu bar that runs along the top of the screen. If you see an option to Diagnose after clicking it, this confirms it is the correct icon.
To do this on Windows OS, check that the DYMO web-service icon is visible in your system tray, which can be found on the right side of your Windows Taskbar. If you see an option to Diagnose after clicking it, this confirms it is the correct icon.
Log in to InventoryLab, click your name in the upper right corner and choose Settings.
Click Printing from the left menu.
Click the Set Up Your Printer button.
Once selected, you will see the option to use the Standard print method (to print using your web browser) or to use IL Print.
IL Print is the preferred method as it works outside of the browser, and is not susceptible to updates to browsers which can require you to go through this process again if using the Standard method.
If you want to install IL print, we suggest reading the below support articles as this article is about the standard method of installing the DYMO printer:
To proceed with using the Standard method, click the left No Thanks option.
InventoryLab will run a check to ensure that the DLS software is installed and actively communicating on your machine. If the software is installed and functioning, you’ll be taken to the selection window to choose your model of DYMO, label type, and roll side if applicable.
If the software was not installed after downloading or is not running, you will instead be prompted to download it by clicking the Download LabelWriter button in the below image (You can also navigate to the DYMO software download page by clicking the download page link below the button):
Once installed, click Next and you should be taken to the DYMO printer model and label selection.
In the selection window to choose your model of DYMO, label type, and roll side if applicable. For more on labels, see DYMO Printer Supported Label Types.
After making your selections, click Complete Setup.
Your printer will now be displayed under the Manage Printer section in your Print Settings.
To change your label type, click the current label next to Label Size and choose a different one from the dropdown menu.
Clicking the Remove Printer button will clear your print settings for a fresh start.
Clicking the Print a Test Label button will print an example label to check your current settings.
Clicking the Re-Download IL Print button will download the application if needed.
That's it! You're now ready to print properly formatted FNSKU labels using InventoryLab.
For information on the options available under the Manage Label Printing section of your Print Settings page, please see Print Settings.
DYMO Connect
If your labels are not completely printing, such as barcode only, it could be due to a conflict with the DYMO Connect software if it was installed instead of the recommended DYMO driver. In that case, follow these steps to resolve it:
Unplug your DYMO printer
Uninstall the DYMO Connect software from your computer completely
Download and install v8.7.5 for Mac or v8.7.4 for Windows of the DYMO Label Software to your computer.
Plugin your DYMO
Go through the Set Up Your Printer steps to reinstall your printer to see if that resolved the issue.
